Monticello (itale "monteto"), proksime de la urbo Charlottesville en la usona ŝtato Virginio, estis la kampara bieno de Thomas Jefferson, la 3-a prezidanto de Usono kaj aŭtoro de la Usona Deklaro de Sendependeco. La bienan vilaon li mem planis en klasikisma stilo. Kune kun la universitato de Virginio, kies centran konstruaĵon same planis Thomas Jefferson, la organizaĵo UNESKO en 1987 deklaris la bienon Monticello monda kultura heredaĵo.

Behind the scenes tour is excellent but if you can't do the stairs the basic house tour is very good. Our day including behind the scene tour lasted for 6 hours. Take your time and relish in the histo

An amazingly beautiful place rich with history. The guided tours are wonderful and everything is also very well identified for anyone to walk around without a guide.

Genuinely historic site, of a great thinker's very personal home. They have special tours that include the upper floor, but you have to book those well in advance. Guides are great.

Beautiful area. Nearly 100* the day we were there and tents were set up to help keep the sun off of us while they allowed small groups of people to go through the house in keeping with COVID mandates.

Always a beautiful historic site. Get your tickets early for tours or try to reserve online ahead of time. You can walk around the outside without a tour but can't go inside. Lots to see.
